A kitchen for professionals and family cooks alike. We’re equipped for a Chrismas banquet for 10, or a picnic lunch for 2 and all points inbetween.
Beautiful cabinetry and granite work tops, The range has a six ring ceramic hob on a double electric oven, the cavenous kitchen sink, the two dishwashers. American fridge freezer, and separate drinks chiller. Microwave, 6-slice Toaster, Coffee machine, bread maker, smoothie maker, the list goes on. Once you book you will be sent a full kitchen inventory, just incase you want to bring your granny’s favourite pie dish, but we think all you’ll need to bring is your “pinny”.
The solid oak table comfortably seats ten. You can even watch the TV whilst you dine if you wish.
We supply pristine white quality crockery and shiny stainless steel cutlery, with ample serving dishes, glasses for every occasion - yes including those for champagne celebrations. The room is cosy and warm in winter with underfloor heating, and a log burner if you need it. You can throw open the wide door to the decked area in summer for dining alfresco dining too.
The comfortable lounge is upstairs, with a juliet balcony looking over open countryside to the sea and the distant village of Beadnell.
At one end is seating for up to 10, infont of the cosy log burner and wall mounted TV with Now TV (includes some SKY sports), Netflix, Amazon prime as well as all the free to view channels, At the other end is a quieter area for reading with library of books, play station games, and where kids can play or use their games station on the screen provided.
Each of the five comfortable bedrooms offers the flexibility to choose a large double bed (4 are Super King, 1 is King), or twin.
On the ground floor two bedrooms have an ensuite shower room, the third uses the adjacent family shower room.
On the first floor, the rear room has an ensuite shower room, and the front room with balcony uses the adjacent bathroom (bath with shower over). Robes and slippers are provided in the non-ensuite bedrooms.
Our shower rooms are small but perfectly formed. The showers themselves are large, some with overhead rain shower heads, others with electric showers.
The house shower room on the ground floor (pictured) is massive providing easy access for the less mobile (it is not however a roll in for wheelchairs). A shower stool, and grab rail can be hired if required.
Upstairs the house bathroom, has a very large 1750 long bath with shower over.
Choose to book the hot tub, it is probably the most popular feature of the house. The hot tub is a cedar 8-seater. It will be up and running for your arrival at a steady 37º, all you need to do is get in and set the soothing jets, and air blower to your preferred setting.
The only restriction on using the tub is that it is out of bounds between 9pm and 9am. and we do ask that noise is kept to a minimum outside between these times, as we do have neighbours to consider. Read about the hot tub
The garage provides a great area for the kids or “big kids” to use if the weather turns a little inclement. It also provides an area to store leisure gear - cycles, golf clubs, diving equipment. etc. Its lockable and safe, with washable floor, and has a heater and extending washing line indoors to dry off wet leisure gear.
We’ve always been Green Clean & Eco Friendly, and have implemented and enhanced our cleaning regimes due to COVID. Now we are used to it all, its working well, and our guests seem to feel confident and welcomed by what we are doing - we think this is the way forward and don’t have plans to go back to the old ways, even if/when COVID disappears.
Our normal cleaning products that we leave have been joined by some.anti-viral partners, and we are doing our best to maintain and expand our green credentials including providing piped filtered water from the kitchen tap & the fridge. and supplying hot water from our solar panels on the roof.
We extend a hearty welcome to our K9 visitors, your four-legged friend will receive a personalised welcome pack comprising home baked biscuits, a chew and some poo bags, and one of our doggy towels to use during your stay, all beautifully presented in a personalised carrier bag
If you are struggling for space in the car - we hire dog crates, dog beds and duvets too

Hastings has been designed over two floors, to maximise the space available for entertaining, and gathering together, in a location ideal for exploring the county of Northumberland
We’ve decided to make it even easier for you to entertain yourselves. Hastings is a great place to gather for a blather if you haven’t seen each other for a while. But what about the background music, the films, the TV soaps and Sport.
Well there are 7 TV’s in the house so everyone can get to watch what they want. This year we’ve introduced up to date smart TV’s in the main rooms, with access to our own accounts on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV including the sports package with some SKY channels in addition to free to air channels. You can catchup on our Iplayer or ITV Hub and sample some new programmes on Apple TV as well. The TVs play radio channels too so never miss your favourite episode, or music channel.
So, the. kids have their own Play station and Wii but can also bring their own favourite kit to link to the screen provided.
The house has super fast wi-fi, so streaming on your own device isn’t a problem.
Alexa is here to help - Ask her to open the Concierge and you can find out many things about the house including turning underfloor heating up or down, providing details of FAQ's, the area, restaurants etc in addition to all the normal things that Alexa can help you out with.
We take our responsibilities for the environment very seriously. we clean the property with environmentally friendly products, and encourage guests to live in an environmentally friendly a way as possible.
So, our waste is managed with a no-landfill policy by our trade waste company, We encourage guests to recycle, reuse and re-purpose, We provide guests with details of walks, and cycle routes and provide parking for you to leave your car at home.
We also have a no fire-works & chinese lantern policy in and around the house, for the sake of wildlife and pets alike, and the lovely horses which live over the road.
As a company we have always believed in independent scrutiny & recognition. So our properties are inspected annually by Visit England, which gives our guests confidence that our facilities and standards live up to expectations of the grading achieved. In Hastings' case for the last 12 years that’s the highest accolade of 5* Gold Award. In addition we have ensured that our staff have undergone training with regards property preparation in these testing times, and during 2020 we also attained the Visit England “Good to Go” and AA Covid Confident skills. We are also members of PASC - Professional Association of Self Caterers and HHA - Holiday Home Association.
